Planting the Future ¿What we do? Nutrition and Hope with the Deméter Program
Deméter Program - Fundacoven
Through the Deméter Program, our goal is to transform lives in the Municipality of Cristóbal Rojas, Estado Miranda, where nutritional conditions present significant challenges.
Our main objective is clear and powerful: to enhance the quality of life for children by providing access to fresh food and offering nutrition education.
Practical examples of implementation and expected changes:
Implementation of School and Community Gardens
Imagine a school where empty yards are turned into vibrant gardens filled with vegetables like tomatoes, lettuce, and spinach. These gardens not only supply fresh food for school meals but also provide children with the opportunity to learn about agriculture and sustainability.
Before: Children relying on processed and insufficient food.
After: Students enjoying fresh salads grown by themselves.
Nutrition Education for Families
Picture Maria, an 8-year-old girl from a remote community. Her family struggled with food scarcity and lacked knowledge of nutrition. With our program, they now have a small schoolar garden and attend workshops that teach them to prepare balanced meals.
Before: Families with limited food options and no nutritional awareness.
After: Families with thriving gardens and healthy eating habits.
School Reintegration
Consider José, an 11-year-old boy who had left school due to financial struggles. Thanks to the program, he now receives meals at school and has regained the energy to focus on his studies, improving his academic performance and hope for the future.
Before: A child outside the school system, facing vulnerability.
After: A motivated student with access to nutritious food.
The Changes We Aim to Achieve:
With the Deméter Program, we seek healthier children, informed families, and empowered communities. Together, we can plant seeds for a future filled with opportunities and well-being.
